Weekend Lineup (for the kids): November 9-11

LightUp Fest
The much-anticipated LightUp Fest is opening this weekend at One Loudoun in Ashburn. Rated one of the top light shows in the country, the LightUp Fest has over 70 different light exhibits with four themes, which include the Tour of Fantasy; Freedom America; Mysterious East and Magical World. There are acrobats, dancers and musicians performing nightly as well.

 

Santa is Coming to Town
Welcome Santa and his helpers straight from the North Pole on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Dulles Town Center. Children will get to start their Holiday countdown early and gather around as Santa arrives in a festive-fashion. The event will include a live musical performance from Rocknoceros, treats, & giveaways! Children will also be able to write a letter to Santa and mail it to him in our big red mailbox.

 

Meadowlark Winter Walk of Light
File this one under Worth the Drive. Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights in Vienna opens this week and runs daily through January 6th. Enjoy this magical outdoor walking light show with more than 500,000 lights and displays. End the evening with s’mores, hot chocolate and other concessions by the warm and cozy fire pit.

 

Jazz & Co Dance Fall Concert
There are three chances to catch this amazing pre-professional contemporary company this weekend at Franklin Park Arts Center in Purcellville. Check out this diverse show with choreography this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

Loudoun School of Ballet Companies in Concert
Also at Franklin Park Arts Center this weekend, is the Protégé, ShowKids and Loudoun Taps performing companies from the Loudoun School of Ballet. Their fall dance concert is on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

 

Free Entrance at National ParksThis Sunday, the National Park Service welcomes all visitors to remember our veterans and visit a national park for free. Many of our national parks, including battlefields, historic sites, and military parks, honor the sacrifice our veterans have made for our nation.
