Weekend Lineup (for the kids): October 19-21

Loudoun Farm Tour
All across the county, farms are opening their barn doors for the general public this weekend to learn more about what is grown and available from local farms. This free, self guided tour is happening on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn how cheese is made, paint a pumpkin (or a horse!), enjoy live music, demonstrations, activities for kids, and much more. Savor the local flavors by buying locally grown produce, fresh eggs, meats, baked goods, and lunch right off the grill. See the tour map for specifics on what each farm is offering.  

 

Air & Scare at the National Air & Space Udvar-Hazy Center
Experience the Air & Space Museum turn into the out of this orbit Air & Scare Halloween event on Saturday. This event for all ages includes spooky crafts, trick-or-truth stations, science experiments and treat giveaways. Fan favorites include the Paper Scare-Plane Design Challenge, the Trick or Trajectory Rocket Launch and Air & Scary Lego Creations.The little ones can enjoy the Tot Zone, witch includes space-themed activities and a dress-up corner. Watch the Rainbow Puppets perform their show “Take a Giant Leap” and catch a movie at the Airbus IMAX Theater
.

 

Monster Mash Village at Leesburg
The Monster Mash is back again Saturday from 3-7 p.m. with the 2018 Extreme Pumpkin Edition. Trick or treating throughout the Village at Leesburg starts at 3pm, followed by a parade and costume contest for kids and pets! Live music, pumpkin carving contest, crafts, activities, cookie decorating, and strolling entertainers round out this spookily popular event.  

 

NOVA STEM Day
Get ready to geek out at the annual NOVA STEM Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northern Virginia Community College Loudoun Campus. This free event for all ages will include tons of physical and hands-on STEM activities including robotics and coding, cartooning, flubber bubbles, game designs, and Polymer Palooza. The Washington Capital Street Caps will be there as well.

 

YMCA Trunk or Treat
The YMCA of Loudoun knows how to throw a darn good family fun event so their Trunk or Treat this Saturday is sure to be a blast.
Enjoy trick or treating, fall games, a haunted bus, music by Bach to Rock Music School, cake walk, and much more at this annual event at the new YMCA Youth Development Center in Sterling.
