Weekend Lineup (for the kids): October 5-7

Joshua’s Hands
If you’re looking for tons of free family fun in one place, then Joshua’s Hands Fall Festival is going to be your jam this Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This annual festival in Waterford is a community event like no other. Absolutely everything is free, including lunch. Enjoy live entertainment like mimes, puppets, and the Wildlife Ambassadors. Ride a pony, climb on a fire truck, pet some animals, make a craft, take a
hayride, win prizes in the carnival games and master the obstacle course. Give back by bidding on the many amazing items up for grabs in the silence auction at the event.

SterlingFest
Another free, fun-filled community event happening this Saturday is the fan favorite, SterlingFest. Children’s activities include a ninja course, moon bounces, petting zoo, and an instrument petting zoo. Enjoy live music, food, and lots of vendor booths as well. Oh, and a bonus for thirsty parents – a beer garden. There will be an auction for some pretty cool items as well. The day kicks off with the Knights of Columbus parade at 10 a.m. and the festival runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Leesburg & Sterling Volunteer Fire Company Open Houses
The Leesburg and Sterling Fire Departments mark Fire Prevention Week with their annual Open Houses on Saturday.
The Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company will have fire truck rides, moon bounces, pizza, and of course, Sparky the Firedog.

After the SterlingFest parade, head over to the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company for their annual Open House. Learn more about the company and their equipment and skills and see some super awesome demonstrations like vehicle extrication, stove fire, ladder truck climb, stokes basket, and more. Both events are entirely free, but we’re sure the volunteer companies will happily accept donations to support their mission of keeping us safe.

Fall Fest
The mega Fall Fest at the Brambleton Town Center is this Saturday from 12-6 p.m. Bring the whole family out to enjoy rides, moon bounces, train rides, live music, a cornhole challenge, and even an escape room trailer. There will be no shortage of food, beer, wine, and artisan/business vendors. The event is free and you can purchase a wrist band for unlimited rides for $15.
