The three essentials of a great dining experience can be boiled down to three simple ingredients – refined wine, delicious food, and a place to get together and enjoy each other’s company, like a friend’s kitchen. This philosophy is what makes The Wine Kitchen in Leesburg so successful. Wine Kitchen takes rustic, simple ingredients and presents them, without meaningless frills, at their purest form. At Wine Kitchen, taste and care take precedent over everything.
The selections for the Wine Kitchen Leesburg’s wine can’t be beat. Boasting over 40 different selections, Wine Kitchen has a diversity that includes local and import brews. Some local flavors include the Zephaniah cabernet, the Fabbioli Cellars vidal blanc, and the North Gate Vineyard merlot– all from the county. Take a taste of each for just $12 and get to know the locals!
For those really looking for something sophisticated, check out some of the rare and hard to find wines. The Margaux de Brane-Cantenac cabernet, for example, has a muscular elegance that is aromatic. The Pomar Junction roussanne has a fruity, sweet taste with just a bit of a citric lemon undercurrent. These selections are indeed more expensive, but each sip is worth every penny and a great opportunity to elevate the pallet.
Come for happy hour (between 3 and 6 pm weekdays) and get some of Wine Kitchen delicious appetizers for $4 each. The pork belly doughnut takes melt in your mouth pork belly and places it on a homemade savory doughnut, and pairs great with one of the daily red wines offered at $5 dollars a glass. The flavor combination of the buttery fat of the pork belly and the sharp sweetness of a red wine comes together in a confederation of taste.
The Wine Kitchen also boasts a fantastic selection of home style meals that include the Yahana Farms Chicken Roulade, made with caramelized onion stuffed leg and thigh, butternut squash, mozzarella, spinach, and sage jus- the perfect fall meal. The Seared Scallops, which include white soy and hoisin glazed pork belly, apple risotto, and a picked apple salad.
Don’t forget to check out The Wine Kitchen’s weekly specials. On Tuesday after 4pm, all wine flights are just $9, and on Wednesday fried chicken is served with a $15 dollar reduction on any bottle of wine! Wednesdays are also when a live band plays from 7:30 till 9.
