Saturday Sips at Six with Dianne Buckely

Figgy Pudding Paloma Mule

It’s Saturday Sips at Six…and if friends don’t give friends fruitcake, then what do they give?  Simple – a Figgy Pudding Paloma with Anejo Please!!! Way back in England’s day, a Figgy Pudding was a coveted Christmas treat and surely even Ebeneezer Scrooge wouldn’t Bah Humbug about this Merry Little Christmas cocktail version!

Patron Anejo Tequila is aged over 12 months and as 2018 comes to an end, only a super smooth sipping tequila will do for a cocktail that’s meant for reflecting! For this creative grog, I broke out my silver mule mugs to keep it nice and cold.

Another excellent cake choice for friends…a crab cake of course! The most delicious I’ve found is at Lightfoot Restaurant on North King Street in Leesburg. It’s Jumbo Lump perfection and holds its own with any pairing!

Figgy Pudding Paloma Mule

2 oz. Patron Anejo
1 oz. Pyrat Rum XO Reserve
3 oz. Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
1/2 oz. Fig Butter
1/4 oz. Grapefruit Marmalade
Fresh Mint

Muddle lightly, several small cut pieces of grapefruit (not peeled) with a few mint leaves in a short mixing tin – don’t over muddle. Add ice, tequila, rum, fig and grapefruit – shake, strain and pour. Garnish with sprig of mint 🍃
