Saturday Sips at Six with Dianne Buckley

It’s Saturday Sips at Six…and continuing with the Naughty or Nice theme is absolutely mandatory. After all, today is December 1st and I know I don’t want to jeopardize my gifts from Santa Claus because I didn’t start working on his treats!

I’m making sure to leave out more than just cookies for Santa this year. There will be two treats left out on December 24th – one for me and one for Pere Noel! Well, because – you know, Naughty or Nice! Even though I try my hardest, sometimes I’m a little too sassy. So a Definitely On The Naughty List Martini will be my nightcap this year – a combination of Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur, Grey Goose Vodka and a smiggen of Goldschlager Cinnamon Schnapps. It tastes like melted white chocolate with a little bit of spice – perfect for a sassy girl like me!

Now, since of course Santa is perfect – this Christmas Eve he will enjoy an Always On The Nice List Martini! Instead of having a spicy kick, his nightcap has an Angelic addition – Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur. I’m sure he will enjoy something a little stronger than milk, with a lovely hazelnut essence – especially after eating all of those chestnuts roasting on all those open fires!

Because these two nightcaps look just like milk, I’ll stick to cookies for Santa’s sweet treat. My two favorite cookies in Loudoun are found at Mom’s Apple Pie in Leesburg. The Mexican Wedding Cookies and the Heart Shaped Linzer Torte Cookies are simply heavenly and are available all year long!

So, don’t wait one more day! Get these ingredients on your list for Santa’s treats or you know what list you’ll end up on for sure!
